Long-term residence visas offered in the UAE

In 2019, the UAE implemented a new system for long-term residence visas. The new system enables foreigners to live, work and study in the UAE without the need of a national sponsor and with 100 per cent ownership of their business on the UAE’s mainland. These visas will be issued for 5 or 10 years and will be renewed automatically.

10-Year Renewable Visa

If the investor invests in any business of AED 10 Million or more, subjected that they do not exceed 40% more of the real estate investment, they will be granted the 10-year visa subjected it should be a debt-free investment solely owned by the investor; the investment shall be at least for 3 years; the investor will have access to multiples entry for 6 months to apply for a long-term visa. The immediate family members will also be given a visa as well.

5-Year Renewable Visa

If the investor’s invest in property investment worth AED 5,000,000/- or more in freehold properties he may seek a visa for 5 years; this visa is renewal subjected that the ownership of the property is maintained by the investor.
